his is the first book by Bella Emy that I have read and I must say I was totally engrossed in this story. I was gifted this book by the author for my voluntarily and honest written review. The story is full of, betrayal, loss, manipulation, forgiveness, tragedy, sympathy, family, trust, infidelity, friendship, commitment, heartbreak, sadness, change, but most of all LOVE. You will have so many feeling during the reading of this book and want to yell at Emily to open her eyes at times.
Emily believes she is happily married to her husband Bruce for the past 6 years until her world fell to pieces by one little phone call from her husband saying “ I am not coming home Emily” and “I want a Divorce”. Even with her families support Emily cannot accept Bruce’s idea that their marriage is over? She is heartbroken and is finding it enormously difficult to move on with her life without him.
Bruce had not been happy in his marriage for some time and had been having an affair for the last 9 months before he told his wife it was over with her and he loves another. Bruce likes to get his own way and plays with others people’s emotions during this book, he is a male character that you will love to hate.
Emily character is at times very self-absorbed with herself, but during the length of the book, her depth of growth will impress you. Should she forgive Bruce and give him a second change or learn from her mistakes.
"Sometimes your first love isn't your true love," is the big message of the second half of this story, after Emily unexpectantly meets a stranger that will give her the sparks she needs to move on with her life. This man will know more about her than he should and a secret from her past is kept that may change their future together.
Love the ending and all I will say is Karma is a B****th for some. Bella Emy is a great storyteller and I completely enjoyed her writing style and her plot was full of twists and turns with real emotions.
