Birthquake

September 22, 2017

This is a hilarious read that will have you laughing out loud as well as also cringing as some of the character thoughts, but in the back of your mind, you are saying YES I completely understand.  I have only read one short story of this author in the #Monfail anthology book set that I enjoyed before, so I was happy to receive this ARC book to read and have written my honest review that I have voluntarily given.  This romantic comedy book has a very relatable plot and character that I am sure most of us can relate to a one time or another.   This book has hilarious one-liners and has a fantastic flow to the poetically written story, I just love the titles of some of the chapters, had me excited to read one and laugh at the same time.

Jeff and Henley are adorable and hilarious together, they meet by a chance encounter on a plane and for Jeff it was love at first sight.  A night of total embarrassment while attending the wedding of Jeff’s brother will change both their lives completely.  How will they cope with their pending parenthood?  If you are a mother or just pregnant you will find this story of Love, Life, Family, stress, and total self-doubt a book you can fully understand and enjoy.

Henley and Tara's friendship was one of the highlights for me, I just their relationship and the banter between them.  A true friend can make the difference to a good life or a wonderful life when you can lean on and help each other along the journey of life.  Tara is a mother of triplets boys so her life advises to Henley come from her crazy life lessons she has already learned the hard way.
