This is the first book by this author I have read even though I have many of her books sitting on my kindle waiting for the free time to read them. I totally enjoyed this story and look forward to reading the other books in this series and the next ones to come in the future. This is a story about how an unexpected change can change your whole life and the way you see our future. This is a very sweet cowboy romance story that will warm your heart and leave you with wanting more. I received this ARC as a gift and this is my voluntary and honest review of this book that I would recommend to any reader.
Emily Zhu has always done what was expected of her and has become the Boston surgeon her parents wanted her to become. She has worked hard all her life to achieve her goal to be a surgeon and has become a workaholic and very ambitious. For the first time in man many years she takes a few days off to attend her best friend’s wedding in South Georgia.
She meets the Grooms brother Eamon and she has him pinned as a bit of a flirt and ladies’ man, but there is an attraction there that she is finding hard to fight off. While still at the ranch Emily finds out that the new job she was promised has been given to someone else, her world is tumbling and shattering around her. What will she do and how will she tell her parents?
Eamon is immediately attracted to Emily and helps her to enjoy her time on the ranch. He will help her to see that she still has a great future and many opportunities to replace the job that has made she feel like a failure in her eyes as well as what her parents will say. Can he be more than just a new friend and a person for her to lean on?
The more time she spends at the ranch and small town in Georgia the more she sees things from her old life that she has been missing. Work is not the most important thing in life, but where and with whom will she find her happy place?
