Shanna Hatfield has captured our hearts again with this very sweet and lovely story of love and hope. How she makes you feel with her words and characters in every book she writes is still a wonder to me as I do read a lot of books each week but hers have a small place in my feel-good heart? This is book two of this lovely twelve-book series of the 12 Days of Christmas Mail-Order Brides in which each book is released each day from the start on December 1st. I love the idea of this series and even though I was given an ARC copy of this book that I am voluntary and honestly reviewing, I will be taking a further look at the other books in this wonderful series.
The series is based around the little town of Noelle, Colorado in 1876 that is hoping to get the railroad to it little community to save the life of the town. The town has a deadline from the railroad company to show that their town is growing by sixth of January, so they have twelve men commit to finding a bride. The twelve men all have a different reason for agreeing to the mail-order bride plan, but it’s when the brides arrive on Christmas Eve that all parties become unsure about the decision that they have made and the road they plan may be in jeopardy.
Culver Daniels is the local blacksmith and runs this and the livery in town where he has a happy life. He has never wished to marry but when the pastor of Noelle has the crazy scheme to save the town, Culver soon makes the discussion of partaking in the plan to apply for Mail-Order Brides.
Widow Kezia Mirga has no plans to marry again, but as life as a widow unfolds she must do whatever is needed to protect the most cherished treasure she has. She agrees to go to Colorado and marry a man she has never meet, so on a cold Christmas Eve she and eleven other Brides arrive in Noelle. Can she dream of a better life in this small town with a blacksmith and what will she say when he finds out about her secret?
Culver is not ready for the sight of the woman he sees with all the others, he feels that life will not be the same again.
Will Kezia find what she has always had missing in her life or will she run back to Denver before she loses more?
Can they all save the town in time?
