MY REVIEW - As beautifully as this book was written I just could not finish it, the truth and honesty in this book had me sad and looking back on my own life. It will remind you of the little voices in your head as a young girl. The author must have written from experience and that can be felt in every word she wrote. I love to read to make me feel happy and entertained but this book at the time I was reading it had me feeling very sad. I only got to the chapter 6 when I had to put it down even though I was sitting by the beach on a beautiful morning it had me feeling blue. I hope I will pick it up again at a later date to see how Alina battled with her demons and made her way in life. I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review of what I read. This is also my first read by this author and I would be happy to give a go at reading her books again as my review is more about my issues and not the writing of this book. The writing style was great and the author was very descriptive in her details.
BLURB - We all have that voice inside our heads.
The one that speaks to us incessantly. That voice we trust to make the right decisions, to keep us on a positive path, even when others try to bring us down.
But what happens when that voice changes? When it’s no longer a voice of reason, a voice of comfort giving us a pep talk when we need them?
What happens when that inner voice turns into a bully?
Don’t you dare eat that.
You’ll never be as pretty as her.
You’ll never be as good as them.
You are disgusting.
You. Are. Nothing.
What happens when that inner voice makes your body take its side?Binge.
And what happens when the bully starts to win?If your name is Alina Cassidy, then you fight like hell.
Warning: May contain subject matter that some readers may find sensitive. But I promise a traditional HEA.
