I read this book in one sitting, one cold winter's night and it warmed my heart to read this second chance story of childhood friends turn to lovers. This is my first read by this author and I totally enjoyed her writing style and the flow was easy to read with only one or two editing small errors during the book. I personally would have liked the book to be longer, I felt there was more to be told about these two, also more about the sport was needed. I received an ARC copy of this great book and this is my voluntary and honest review. I am looking forward to checking out the author's other books to see what she had to offer us in more stories. If you are after a short read that will give you that heartwarming feeling but still give you excitement this is the book for you.
What do you do when your best friend tells you that he loves you? Well for Abigail it was to run, run away from her feeling and his. When I win this championship, I'll have everything I want.
MMA has been a passion of mine ever since I took martial arts lessons as a child. And I'm so close to winning the championship, I can taste it. I don't let anything get in my way, including dating. Sure, I may sleep around a bit, but I won't commit to dating anyone because a relationship would distract me from my goals.
Though, honestly, it's an easy decision to make since I haven't found anyone I truly connect with. At least, not since Abel left town. He was my best friend and the love of my life but when I told him how I felt... he bailed. Just left town without a word. It crushed me. I thought I'd never see him again.
But now he's back in town and all these feelings are rushing back to me. But I can't let him distract me from my goals. I have to win... It's all I've ever wanted.
I never thought I'd be back in this town.
Moving back was the last thing I wanted to do. After I left at eighteen, I swore I would be coming home. But life circumstances have forced me back. And it's also forced me to deal with my past... A past I thought I could forget.
No, that's a lie, I could never forget Gage. He doesn't know it, but he means more to me than anyone else ever has. I was an idiot to ever leave him. I hate the way I hurt him and I'll never forgive myself. So the best thing I can do for him now is stay out of his way. He has a life outside of me, I don't want to bring him down.
Besides, he's a famous stud now. He doesn't think about me anymore... does he?
This standalone MM romance novel is the first in the Sweet Sports romance series! It comes complete with HEA ending and bonus material from two of my other books!
