“Will she marry the right man, for the right reasons?” If the bride has to ask herself this question I believe she is already in trouble. We meet Meghan and Lachlan just after that have gotten engaged and Meghan is taking her two weeks holidays from her vet nursing job to visit Brigadier Station, Lachlan’s home and soon to be hers.
This is my first Sarah Williams read even though I have had her book sitting on my kindle for some time. I am so very pleased I took the time to give this story a read as I found it totally enjoyable to read. The characters were very relatable and endearing to the reader with the flow of the story at a very nice pace. It had me very much wanting to pick up book two straight away to read more of these and other characters of Brigadier Station and the surrounding area of the North Queensland outback.
What would you do if you visited you fiancé’s home to find out you will spend more time with his younger brother than your fiancé as he was just too busy to spend time with you?
Meghan loved the outback and it brought back memoirs of her childhood when her parents own a horse station when she was very young. She very quickly felt at home of the station and found a great fondness for her soon to be mother-in-law Harriet.
Darcy McGuire lives and works with his older brother who is his boss, Darcy loves his life on the Station with time spend going to camp drafts and rodeo’s with his house, Jasper. His goal was to own his own property one day to raise horses.
He was totally surprised when his brother brought a girl home to stay but most of all that he was going to marry her, Lachlan was a bit of a ladies man and love to drink a lot and he didn’t believe he was ready for that kind of responsibility yet.
The more time Meghan spent on the station the more Darcy had to remind himself she was Lachlan future wife and the more Meghan spent her time with Darcy and not Lachlan the more she saw a different side to her future husband.
I loved Meghan, Darcy and Harriet the boys mum, but Lachlan needed to get his head on straight and I didn’t very much like his character. Book two is about Noah McGuire the youngest brother who lives in New Zealand and I can’t wait to read his story and catch up with all the others at Brigadier Station again.
I believe this was Sarah Williams debut novel wow. A great book to start a writing career, so looking forward to reading more of her wonderful stories.
