I was in a bit of a book reading funk when I picked up this paperback yesterday; it had been sitting on my bedside table for the last few weeks. One how I have missed reading a paperback and two I love Amy Andrews writing style with her loving characters and powerful emotions she spreads through her whole book. If you pick up this book or look at the eBook cover you might just get a little surprise, the cover picture is nothing like the characters you will read about within the cover. Trinity Walker is a determined young single mother that will do whatever is necessary to keep her son safe, healthy and happy. Reid Hamilton a bearded, tattooed, biker riding, hero style kind of doctor. This is my very first read of Amy Andrews to which it will not be my last as I really enjoyed this medical romances.
This book grabbed my immediate attention with its fast-pace and entertaining story with characters that I knew had a great story to tell. I found Reid to be very admirable and very respectful to Trinity’s feeling as well as his grandfather and young Oscar. Maybe my book reading funk is over.
Trinity Walker was down on her luck again and was in a need of catching a break not just for herself but for her young son Oscar. Even when her life looked like it was not getting better with the need to find a job and a place to live, Trinity finds herself stepping into a situation at the park to help an elderly gently man from being harassed by a group of teenage boys. She did not know that this one act might just change everything when she meets the man’s grandson and he offers a job and a place to live.
She’s had a tough time with her son’s illness and definitely needs to catch a break if she’s to be able to take care of herself and her son to the best of her ability. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine meet that had me hooked and determined to discover more about the heroine’s troubles and whether Reid and his grandfather will be the answer to her prayers.
Reid is an ex-army surgeon with a wandering grandfather (early Alzheimer’s) who gets a phone call from a strange woman. He rushing to his Grandfather's aid and is surprised when he realizes the woman and her son that helped his grandfather are homeless. Reid’s determination to show Trinity there is still good in the world, so he offers a place to live with him and Eddie (grandfather) at their place and a job. He has his hands full trying to get her to understand that it’s all right to accept help in order to try and get her life back on track.
Trust me... I’m a Doctor."
But can he win her trust?
Trinity finally decides to care for Eddie and move in as it was not just about herself but her son as well and he seemed to love being around Eddie. But can she trust these two-man, but if she could just get a little ahead she and Oscar could find their own place a lot faster this way.
“I think it’s best if we keep things... platonic.”
Famous last words that they both will have to remind themselves of over the coming weeks.
“There was something about her that definitely piqued his interest... that didn’t just pull at his heartstrings, but at the ones in his groin too. “
"You deserve a man to love you right... To take it slow. To worship you. Let me do that."
This was a great Australian story of Love, Family, Trust, Miracles, Kindness but most of all Chemistry. I would not call this a Christmas book it's just a Miracle that happens at Christmas time.
I have had the lovely pleasure of meeting this Author twice in the last six months at two different author signing events I attended and I must say Amy Andrews is very nice and friendly. I thank her for this signed copy of this book for me to read.
