This is my first read by this Australian Author and I must say I totally enjoyed this book as I am with this series. This is the first book of the “Outback Brides of Wirralong” which follows on from the Series “Outback Brides” both are written by many different authors and are set in the wonderful town of Wirralong where Weddings and Happy Ending are taking over the town. I have only recently read “Tess (Outback Brides of Wirralong Book 2)” but have loved both of them and I am looking forward to reading the future books as well as the Outback Brides series as well.
I found the writing style of this author to be well descriptive, full of fun and heartwarming moments that have you engrossed with her story and characters. You get a great feel for the Australian outback in this story that you can feel like you are right there with the characters. This is sweet read with not much after the close of the bedroom door but the chemistry between the two is verdant throughout the book with twists and turn to keep you wanting more. I would recommend this book and this series.
How ironic that the day of Lacey’s divorce was final she is sitting at a wedding for a very good friend. Lacey had returned to Willalong from Perth after she left her husband some months ago and it was a place she could finally call home. She had hidden her until her divorce come thought to know she needs to return to straighten up her financial side of the divorce to be able to return to her former career as a Midwife. Lacey had been fighting her attraction to the sexy policeman in town since she arrived but with Cameron James at the wedding and her new life about to start could she take a step into the chemistry that seems to fly around them.
“He exuded raw masculine power and devil-may-care sinfulness that made her want to sigh from behind a curtain as she watched him walk by.
“Self-esteem and independence might not seem difficult to most people, she thought bitterly, but when you’d had the loss of it rammed down your throat by your narcissistic ex-husband until you had to run, self-esteem assumed enormous importance.”
Cameron James had returned home recently after five years away travelling across Victoria for the Police Department, but being home was great as the town was changing. There were a lot more single ladies than when he left, but he was not looking for marriage as that has never been in his life plan to him, so today was a sad day as another single bloke meet his end. Ben did look ridiculously happy though but Cameron didn’t envy him as marriage followed parenthood and he was never going to a father as if your family genes play a part in your life he would be a very bad father like his own that he never meet. But he soon finds himself flirting with Lacey Jerome to whom he finds himself sitting next to at the ceremony.
“Ben was married. Whoopie. Not”
“Footloose and fancy-free suited Cameron just fine. Freedom meant he could sidle up to any sensible, single woman and offer seduction without having to worry about the morning after.”
“This was why he shouldn’t get involved with Lacy Jerome, because she shook the foundations of what he believed in and left him far too freakin” vulnerable.”
They both find themselves with a one night stand that will lead to a turn of events that will change their plan in life.
Lacey leaves town to go back to Perth to fix her ending with her ex-husband and Cameron is left wondering why he still thought about her.
What will happen when Lacey returns eight months later?

I recently meet with author at an Author Signing event in Brisbane. She is a very lovely person with wonderful stories to tell. I look forward to reading more of her books.
Lacey Jerome had always fought her attraction to sexy police officer Cameron James, but one crazy night, she let her hair down and fell into bed with him. Their night together turned more passionate, more soul-scorching than she’d imagined it could be, but mixed messages from Cameron had her fleeing the scene.
Now, she's back in Wirralong with the memories of their one-night stand etched into her mind and a mission to reconnect with the man who made her lose her head in the most delicious manner.
Cameron never forgot Lacey -- and not for lack of trying. He has his own restrictive code, but somehow his thoughts always manage to wander to the newly returned beauty. He has questions and Lacey knows all the answers.
