Mel A. Rowe has done it again with book two of this series set in the wonderful town of Elsie Creek in the Northern Territory of Australians outback. All the characters were so enjoyable to get to know as they all brought something special to this story, that was also a bit of a lesson in craft beer making and fauna knowledge as well. This book had many facets to it from loss, recovery, growth, finding home, softball, acceptance, teamwork but most of all family.
The witty banter throughout this book will have you engrossed in this story and this town as you laugh along with the characters. Mel A Rowe always leaves me happy and contented when I have completed one of her books, also feeling that I live in one of the best countries in the world Australia. I fell in love with this cover the very first time I saw it and after reading the book I must say it’s a perfect cover to portray this wonderful story.
Verily has come to visit her Aunt Molly, back to the town in which she was born and a country she has lived away from for many years. The outback small town of Elsie Creek if is far cry from all the countries she has travelled to over the many years of her career. She is here to recover mentally and physically from the accident that cost her more than her dream.
Alex is living his dream at the same time he is also living his father's dream. Driving truck around the outback is his father's dream for him, he has found his life and happiness making Craft Beer on a mango farm. When he walks into his landladies farmhouse he is not expected to see a young woman that will spark feeling in him that he never thought he wanted.
Verily has a return ticket back to America to return to help her father out with his business. That was her plan when she arrived but the more she learns about this farm, the people and the town the more she learns about herself along the way.
Can her attraction to Alex just be a holiday romance?
Will she learn more about her mother from being in her birthplace?
This is a sweet and loving read that will fill your heart with joy and hopefully like myself have you excited for the next instalment of this great series. I received an ARC copy from Booksprout and the author to which I have voluntary and honestly written this review. There are so many other characters other than the two main one that you will be able to connect with during this read that will bring the true feeling of the Aussie outback to life for you during the pages of heartwarming words this author will give us to enjoy.
